When we brought Elizabeth home from the hospital she was only 5lbs. 3 oz. and though we had so many clothes in her drawers and closet barely any of them fit her. Grandma Arlinda bought her a cute sleeper to wear home from the hospital that said "Grandma Loves Me" in a newborn size which was still way too big.
Uh-oh we hadn't prepared for a Preemie, nor did we have very many newborn sized clothes, so for a few days she wore pretty much the same couple of gowns. Thankfully with our families help we were able to gather together a few preemie outfits.
At 1 week, she visited the pediatrician and she stilll weighed 5lbs. 3 oz. and just one week later for her 2 week appointment she was back to her birth weight, 5lbs. 9oz. on the dot. Then just 4 days after her doctor's appointment, we weighed her again and were delighted to find she was 5lbs. 14oz. and had been gaining an estimated 1 oz. per day!
Now, at nearly 4 weeks old she is no longer wearing preemie diapers, and only a few of her preemie outfits fit, more and more newborn sized clothes are fitting her and we can hardly believe how quickly her thin little face has plumped up and her tummy too! Here's a few pictures below of our hungry mungry growin' girl . . .
