Our main project for the month of May has been getting yard work done, however Idaho's main goal has been to have very windy days, so it has been a challenge! Raking leaves is better left to the fall, but we have been trying to get the yard ready to overseed, so rake we must! We finally got everything all raked up, and then the wind came back and blew all of the seeds out of our sugar maple tree! So much for getting the seeding done sooner than later. But we did accomplish something this last weekend. . . our little raised garden. We got a little more creative/thrifty with the project than a traditional raised garden, but so far it seems to be working. Aside from our diggin' dog - grrrr! Who may or may not have tromped down some of our squash, ripped out 1/2 of our peas, and flattened a few pumpkins, 2 days after we got it all planted. Needless to say he is under closely supervised visits now when he makes his rounds to use the bathroom. So, we may have to re-plant some of our garden and make sure we have veggies in late summer to harvest. We bought some tomato plants and were excited to get them in the ground this last weekend, but it's still too cold. Oh well, enjoy the pictures of our little garden. Here's hoping it recovers from it's recent mauling soon :)
