Playin' Catch Up - March & April

On March 20th Kevin and I took a little drive to Pocatello for the Chrome in the Dome Car Show. When we were dating we really enjoyed visiting car shows together. We always make it a point to choose a favorite car or truck and take a picture to remember it by. The car show was held at ISU's Holt Arena and it was a fun time. Kevin even purchased a $5 raffle ticket for the chance to win a 1972 Chevelle ( we won't find out if we are the lucky winners until July) but it was fun to support the Make a Wish Foundation even if we don't win. Here are a few pictures from our adventures that day. The police car that you see is one of the actual police cars used in the Blues Brothers Movie. I really liked the paint job on the hood and the way it was littered with misc. items from the movie. My favorite car of the show however was the Nomad, and Kevin's well - he had a few he liked. Enjoy the pictures!

The weekend after that we made a pit stop in Utah to visit with our families and had a really nice time. We try to go down to visit just about 3 times a year, and make a special effort to visit when the weather is nice because driving through the Malad pass in winter time is never such a good idea. We had a blast catching up with our neices and nephews! We got to see our neice play softball, do a little surgery with our nephew ( he has an inflatable operation guy - don't worry, not real sugery he's only 9) and Uncle Kevin made a wonderful horsey, or rather "puppy" for our 2 and 4 year old nephews to ride on. We had a great visit, and are looking forward to another one soon.
Easter, was kind of low key this year. We didn't even dye easter eggs, it kind of snuck up on us. We didn't even get the window clings up or pull out our Easter Bunny potato head. But we did make the traditional ham dinner, and to our dismay found that we had puchased an old ham ( no expiration date ) that was kind of gray and smelled like freezer burn. So, we had an impromptu chinese meal instead. Talk about sad and disappointing, after cooking that ham and looking forward to it eating it. It was beyond depressing to throw it away, not to mention the money we spent on it ( literally)! But earlier in the day we did make the best of the approaching spring weather by starting to grow some veggie and flower seeds in a jiffy greenhouse.

I celebrated my 31st birthday on April 18th ( actually both the 17th and 18th because I had a Sunday birthday this year). My hubby planned an overnight at a local hotel for us, complete with a date to a high school production of Oklahoma. It was a nice little staycation just up the road because it consisted of everything I love : hanging out with my hubby, musicals, swimming, and soaking in the hot tub! Not to mention my mom came up to spend the weekend with us, and we got to spend time clothes shopping ( no luck ) and playing games ( which is always more fun with 3 than just 2) and we all did a little birthday karaoke too. It was a nice 2 days spent with my 2 favorite people :) aside from the whole - our cars got egged by some random hoodlums aspect of it. Grrrrrr! Teenagers!
