Ah, October

October has arrived and with it the excitement of many things in our family. Probably, among the most exciting news is that we officially have both health and dental insurance coverage again! It has been entirely too long, and we are excited to have coverage should we need to visit either a doctor or dentist ( the dental visit is impending for the hubby).

Secondly, we received a letter a few days ago stating that we had been accepted into the financial assistance program for the hospital meaning that our hospital bills for both the surgery and my ER visit had been cut in half, making them manageable, to pay off in monthy installments. I also called the Dr. who performed my surgery's billing department and inquired if I would qualify for financial assistance through them as well, saying that I had qualified through the hospital and she said I would, and not to pay any of the bill I had just received but wait for another one with the new reduced total and call back to set up a payment plan. Happiness! Friday was a really great news kind of day around here. Having even less medical bills to pay, and manage is a wonderful reason for celebration! Of course, we do still owe the anethesiologist, and several people in the pathology department but the bulk of our medical expenses has been cut in half :) I cannot even come close to expressing how blessed I feel for having that kick in and take away some of our stress and worry. All I can say for certain is, God heard and answered that prayer.

Nothing compares to the excitement of this month in our home, not only is there the beautiful fall colors, tasty comfort foods, and exciting family activities, but there is plenty of birthdays too! My hubby will be turning the big three - oh this year, and most of his siblings have birthdays this month as well. Not to mention there is the excitment of Halloween just around the corner. Hmmm. . . what to be, what to be. It's going to be a busy, beautiful month and I can't wait. I love this time of year!
