Yesterday was Kevin and I's 5th Wedding Anniversary! I can hardly believe we are in year 5 already, not only that, but how much we've learned together and grown in those five years. It seems like yesterday, I was filled with anxoius anticipation about my wedding day, but yet so much has transpired since then. For example, in the 5 years that we've been together here are a few major happenings that have transpired since we said "I do" . . .
- We have moved a total of 4 times!
- We have prayed a million prayers that someday a baby would stick and we'd be able to get off the crazy emotional roller coaster of infertility.
- He has changed jobs 4 times, and is on the verge of settling into job number 5
- We have purchased, fixed up, and sold our first home.
- I underwent my first ever surgery
- We have owned 2 pets ( one of which was more like a child than a pet), and said goodbye to each of them.
- We have made friends and met neighbors that became like family, and then moved closer to our actual families.
- We saw our first ever plus sign on a pregnancy test together, after 4 long years!
- We have done our best to communicate through all of the crazy ups and downs, always say I love you, and hold hands when out and about in public.
- When times have gotten particularly hard we've done our best to approach God in prayer asking for help and guidance.
- I am sure we've had some silly arguments along the way, but I'm also very sure we've had some pretty great laughs too!
Kevin is my best friend, my partner in crime, and my soft place to fall. I don't know where I would be without him by my side. He is the mellow to my anxious, the sense in my non-sense, and the tender heart to my strong. We balance each other out, make each other better, and continue to learn about and appreciate each other every day.
I am so blessed to be married to such a kind hearted, well intentioned, hard working guy and I can't wait for all the many new adventures parenting will bring to us. It is so unusal to think of he and I plus one, and how quickly life will be flipped upside down for us in just a matter of months. But I know as with all of the other challenges in life we have faced thus far, we will face this one with just as much love and devotion to one another as we have faced every other one in the past. And she will be a blessing, and will help us to continue to grow and learn, love, and laugh at life.
Happy Anniversary Kevin C. Robinson! I love you! I love you! I love you! Now hold on tight because in less than 100 days we are going to be facing a brand new adventure together! All aboard, next stop . . . Parenthood :)
