So, I am sure if you tend to check in on the blog you have been wondering where I have been for the last little bit and all I can say to that is . . . we've been sick. Blech, what a miserable almost month it has been of viruses, pink eye, allergies, an ear infection etc... and mostly for Elizabeth and I, which is unusual as Kevin is usually the one with all of the fun stuff that sticks around forever. About 3 Co-pays later I think it might finally be through the family though and I am thankful.
We had just celebrated my 33rd birthday on the 18th of April with a nice meal and dessert at mom's ( just like the old days ) and just a few days later it hit Elizabeth, at first we thought it was just teething or allergies but then the cough started . . . and the rest is what I can only hope is FINALLY history. Despite all the illness between baby girl and I, we managed to get our garden planted ( which was no small task, because it was a gigantic weed patch), and Elizabeth has mastered rolling as her main form of transportation and cut her two bottom teeth. She also hit the 7 month landmark and shot up in inches, losing a bit of her baby looks and is looking much more like a toddler. She previously came up to my knees, but now stands about 3" higher than that ( my guess is about 30" tall)! She is also talking a ton, and I've started to sign with her, which she has really taken to . . . She can now sign "water" and is starting to sign "ball", we will keep working on it, but she seems very interested in communicating with mom and dad and we are big fans of it too!
We are looking forward to a much healthier summer with perhaps at least one camping trip in our never before used instant tent, picnics in the park / feeding ducks, more strolls in the stroller, and of course some splashing in some pools indoor or out. Hopefully we will also get to make some more memories with family too, now that we aren't contagious anymore and can be around them again.
