A Memorable Memorial Day

Three very big events happened for us this memorial day that made it memorable. . .

We visited Grandpa Tom's grave
( Kevin's father who passed when he was 9 )

We didn't have any flowers to bring him, but Elizabeth
is going to bring him a pinwheel for his birthday.

Elizabeth had her first taste of watermelon . . .

and she is a BIG fan!

And last and most exciting of ALL!

Elizabeth slept through the night in her crib, all by herself!  No swaddling, no blanket at all, no long rock-a -bye sessions with mommy or daddy, no bum patting, or back patting at all!  She went cold turkey, and fell asleep in less than an hour like a BIG girl!  We haven't gotten much sleep around here for the last week, and we knew it was TIME to start sleep training, so we visited the library, got a book called "The Sleep Easy Solution" and we are already experience results!   This morning I laid her down for her morning nap and she didn't even cry or fuss, just drifted off to sleep in less than 15 minutes!  :)  It works and it is worth it!  I actually went to sleep at the same time as Kevin, instead of feeling like we were keeping opposite schedules on baby duty.

It was a truly memorable holiday!
