The Forgotten Falliday

To the tune of : Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer

There are costumes, and pumpkins, and fun dress up parties. Ghouls ringing bells and collecting up Smarties.
And then we prepare by hanging our stockings with care.

Oops, we forgot Thanksgiving. Or at least the stores do now. What about decorating? They move right on to Christmas wow.

Sure, they all sell their turkeys for a cheaper price it's true. But they forgot Thanksgiving, and it makes me cry boo - hoo.

Turkey day is when we say how grateful we can be, for our food, and our good mood, and our family. It's not about the stuffing in our tummies or the bird, or watching hours of football, that is really so absurd.

It's all about our blessings and giving thanks to God above. It's all about our families and sharing in each other's love.

Christmas will be here it's true, before we even blink, but don't forget to tally up all the blessings you can think. God really loves his children, and watches over them with care. So during this Thanksgiving don't forget to say a prayer.

Notice all the miracles, and luxuries in life, thanking him for each small thing even for the strife. He sees the bigger picture and He knows how it will end. Just trust His loving guidance, much like you would trust a friend.

Next time you chance to walk in to a busy shopping mart, don't rush right past Thanksgiving to overfill your shopping cart. Mark it upon your calendar don't forget to circle the date. Cause when you miss Thanksgiving you really miss something great!

So there you have it, my take on the hustle bustle rush right past Halloween and head long into Christmas take that the general population have about Thanksgiving. Which just happens to be one of my favorite fall holidays. No matter where you are, or what you are doing take time to count your blessings, and be with people you love. Life is fleeting, and loss can be sudden. Spend time with those that you love, watch the parades together, whip up a pie together, play a game together, and just celebrate all of the wonderful blessings that God has given us.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Love, Juli and Kevin Robinson and Gus :)
