Birthday Happenings

Kevin had a wonderful birthday yesterday! He got five bucks from his boss, multiple happy birthday wishes on facebook and on the phone, some great smelling body wash, a delicious German chocolate cake and lactose free ice cream! We went to Jack in the Box for burgers, and headed to the the cheap theater to finally see "Up". Since it's just about to hit DVD, we figured we'd finally clear our schedules to see it. But much to our avail, the bulb burned out on the projector and we were given a refund, and headed to Walmart for a $5 movie instead. Kevin picked out "Edward Scissorhands" and we had a movie night in. Also, when we arrived home from Walmart our front screen door was suspiciously propped open, and upon closer investigation we found a bright blue, rather large gift propped against the door with Kevin's name on it. As we headed down the road towards our house Kevin had mentioned that he had seen our neighbors little SUV parked in front of our house. So, we knew right away who had left him the anonymous gift! We love our neighbors, they are the sweetest family and have been so kind to us. We are always getting together for dinner or movie nights, and we regularly babysit their two little children ( 2 and 4 yrs. old). Anyhow, they bought Kevin a 38" student guitar! Which was a perfect gift because the two ( Josh, the father in the family and Kevin ) can have jam sessions together eventually. Josh has been helping Kevin to learn the basics. Perhaps the best bonus in all of this is the guy bonding aspect, which I am a huge fan of cause Josh couldn't be a better guy for Kevin to hang with :) Anyway, the above picture is of Kevin with his birthday haul. I absolutely love this pic, because he is just beaming with birthday boy excitement about his happy day! I guess the consensus on getting a year older for Kevin would have to be ( at least so far ): "Twenty nine is mighty fine!"

  1. Sounds like a nice birthday. Fun that he is learning the guitar too. I want your neighbors.
